Papua New Guinea have recorded their first ever victory over Thailand when they won the first the T20 Internationals between the two sides at Port Moresby.
Notable from that match, the return to international cricket for two of PNG’s stars, Tanya Ruma and Sibona Jimmy; but it was another veteran who saw PNG to victory. Needing 10 runs from the final over of the match it was the cool head of Pauke Siaka (25*) who saw the home team scrape home on the final ball of the match. The series continues this morning.
The Women’s Asia Cup is likely to be played in the UAE between August 28 and September 13. The competing teams will be: Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand and UAE.
