Women’s Cricket Daily – 12 August 2026
Welcome to today’s women’s international cricket update featuring overnight results, today’s matches, breaking news and a look back through history.
News in brief
- Thailand has triumphed over Papua New Guinea to share the T20 International series 1-1. It was a low scoring affair with PNG reduced to 26/5 at one stage, with Player of the Match, Phannita Maya (3-9) ripping through the top order. A steadying knock from Tanya Ruma (37) helped recover the innings, but 86/9 was never really going to trouble Thailand who got home by 6 wickets.
- PNG and Thailand have a rest day today before embarking on a three match ODI series. The teams have never met in the 50 over format. This is a welcome series for two teams still in the early stages of their ODI careers and both have performed credibly up til now. Who will win? That is impossible to predict! The series will be streamed live on Cricket PNG YouTube channel.
- The Women’s Asia Cup is likely to be played in the UAE between August 28 and September 13. The competing teams will be: Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand and UAE.
- Friday Quiz! This is a musical one. Sounds good! How many can you get right? On Song Quiz.
