News in brief

• The Sri Lankan bowlers did the job early and that efforts was backed up by another dominant display by their batters, as the home team clinched the ODI series, winning by 8 wickets to end the series 2-1.
• The T20 series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan commences on Friday. It will be interesting to see how Pakistan go, given that their captain and leading player, Fatima Sana, will be playing in the Hundred.
• Namibia won their final minor round in the Namibia quad series and go through to tomorrow’s final undefeated. Joining them in the final will be Uganda.
• A controversial finish in the Uganda v Tanzania match. Uganda were 116/2 when Tanzania left the field and never returned, with the match awarded to Uganda. While the result had no impact on the final placings it is still not clear why Tanzania refused to return to the field.
• Brazil opened their account in the Swiss quad series with a thumping 87 run victory over Jersey. Their 243/2 is the team’s second highest in T20 Internationals and Lindsay Boas‘s 121 is the second century by a Brazil player and the second highest all time for the team. In the other match Spain defeated Switzerland by 8 wickets.
• Argentina is hosting Canada for a seven match T20 series starting on today.
