Born on January 1st 1996 in Chiang Mai, current Thailand T20 player, Natthakan Chantham, right hand batter and medium pace bowler.
Natthakan got a taste of international cricket when she represented Thailand in the U19 Asia Cricket Council Women’s Championships in 2008 at home in Chiang Mai. The then fourteen year old held her own with both bat and ball before Thailand was bundled out of the semi-finals by Nepal.
No surprise that Natthakan was in the senior team for the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifiers in 2013. By the time Thailand achieves international status for their T20 team the young allrounder has already cemented her spot in the team.
Of the matches Thailand has played since gaining T20I status, Natthakan has played in all but one. She is Thailand’s all-time leading run scorer and the first to pass 1000 runs. Her 56 from 50 balls against Pakistan at the T20 World Cup in March 2020 turned many heads.
When Thailand played their debut One Day International in 2022 Natthakan was in her usual spot at the top of the order. Against the Netherlands at Royal Chiangmai Golf Club the opener scored a century in her ODI debut, becoming only the seventh player to achieve this feat in women’s cricket.
