Marizanne Kapp

Born on 4th January 1990 in Port Elizabeth, Cape Province, Marizanne Kapp is Test, ODI and T20I allrounder for South Africa.

Making her debut for Eastern Province at the age of just fourteen, by the time she is sixteen she is an important allrounder for the team. In March 2009 Marizanne is part of the South Africa Squad to play in the World Cup in Australia. Her debut match was against the Australians.

Later in 2009 Kapp makes her T20 International debut – again in a World Cup and once again against the Australians. In the ensuing years the medium-fast bowler and technically sound batter would become one of the best allrounders in both white ball formats. She has played in the Kia Superleague and has been a regular in the WBBL competition for the Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers since 2015/16.

In 2014/15 Marizanne played in her debut Test, against India at Mysore and hadn’t played another until June 2022 where she made her highest score to date, 150 against England at Taunton.

She’s scored over 2000 runs in ODIs with a top score of 102*, while taking over 100 wickets, and still counting, making her one of the top allrounders in the world in her generation. She has played in four ODI World Cups, making her ODI debut in the 2009 World Cup in Australia.

It’s a similar tale in T20 Internationals, with over 1000 runs and over 50 wickets. She has appeared in six T20 World Cups.
