Lea Tahuhu

Born on September 23rd 1990 in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand ODI and T20 International fast bowler, Lea Tahuhu.

At times purportedly the fastest bowler in the world, Lea made her debut for Canterbury in 2008/09 part of the team that won the State League in that season. Used sparingly in that first season, the youngster began to make her presence felt, her raw pace unnerving for opposition batters.

Unleashed on the big stage in 2011, Tahuhu made her ODI and T20I debuts against Australia and India respectively. On the 14th June she took her first international wicket when she bowled Meg Lanning. By the 25th June she’s made her T20 debut, collecting the wicket of Veda.

Since firing bullets on the world stage, Tahuhu has appeared in three ODI World Cups and in 2022 became the highest wicket taker in this format for New Zealand..

Lea has also played in three T20 World Cups and is the third highest wicket taker for New Zealand in this format.
