Born on 1st June 2002 in Dublin is current T20 International player for Ireland, Orla Prendergast.
Orla is a right-arm medium pace bowler, likely to mature into fast-medium as her career progresses. She’s also a handy right-hand batter. She made her senior T20 domestic debut with the Scorchers in July 2016 at the age of fourteen and took 2-16 – the only bowler wickets take in the innings.
A debut in List A (50 over cricket) came in 2017. In May 2021 Orla, filling in as captain, scored a century, 116 from 129 balls. This young quick bowler can also bat and has displayed enough leadership potential to captain her team at eighteen years of age.
Orla has played 12 T20 Internationals, the most recent of these against Scotland in May 2021. She has taken 11 wickets at 13.18 with an economy of just 4.50. Her highest score with the bat is 38.
