Born 17th January 1989 in Subiaco, Western Australia, Test, ODI and T20I cricketer for Australia, Nicole Bolton is primarily an opening batter.
Nicole made her debut for Western Australia in 2004/5 and since then has also played for Victoria, Otago and Lancashire Thunder. She is also a key player with both bat and ball for the Perth Scorchers in the WBBL, her bowling becoming increasingly important to that team in recent times, but her primary role is with bat in hand.
National selection came in 2013/4 when she made both her ODI and T20I debut. On 23rd January 2014, in the second ODI of the Ashes series Nicole opened the batting with Meg Lanning and scored 124 runs and thus a century on debut. It remains her best format.
T20 International debut just over a week later in the same Ashes campaign. One more T20 in 2016 and then nothing more. Quite surprising to see that Nicole has played so little for Australia in this form of the game.
Nicole made her Test debut in 2015 against England at Canterbury and scored 36 in the first innings. Of the three Tests she has played it remains her highest score. Clearly her most successful work for Australia has been in the ODI format where she has played 50 matches and scored 1896 runs at 41.21 with four centuries and twelve half centuries.
