These two teams met recently in the West Indies and resulted in thumping wins for South Africa. However, the West Indies were minus a few players, none more important than captain Stafanie Taylor. This time it is the captain of South Africa, Dane van Niekirk, who will be missing.
The series was originally planned as three T20s followed by five ODIs. The schedule was revised to just four ODIs, the T20s completely scrapped.
