The first international women’s cricket in 2021, following the near absence of such in 2020 saw Pakistan tour South Africa in January/February of 2021. The series comprised three ODIs followed by three T20Is.
South Africa showed that they are a side continuing to grow and although the margins were small they won all of the ODIs and two of the three T20s. Pakistan fought well and did so in the absence of their captain, Bismah Mahroof who was on maternity leave. In her absence Javeria Khan led the team.
