Katherine Brunt

Born on July 2, 1985 in Barnsley, South Yorkshire is Test, ODI and T20 International player for England, Katherine Brunt.

Brunt’s Test debut came in 2004 against New Zealand. She took 1-45 and 2-36. Against the visiting Australians in 2005, she bowled England to victory in the second Test, spoiling the swansong of Aussie skipper Belinda Clark, taking 5-47 and 4-64. She had clearly announced her presence on the world stage.

In 2005 she also made both her ODI and T20i debuts. By 2009 and the first T20 World Cup, Brunt is Player of the Match in the final with 3-6. It was in combination with her long time bowling partner Anya Shrubsole that Brunt was part of another World Cup victory, against India in 2017.

In pure numbers she is the premier quick bowler of her generation. With the bat, fewer opportunities, but Brunt does not give her wicket away easily and on the more than one occasion she has saved England’s bacon with her blade. ECB Cricketer of the Year 2006, 2010, 2012-13.
