Mignon du Preez

Born on June 13th 1989 in Pretoria, former South Africa captain Mignon du Preez skippered the national team in Test, ODI and T20 matches from 2011 to 2016. In 2022 Mignon retired from Test and ODI cricket but is still available for T20 Internationals.

She made her debut for South Africa in ODI matches in 2006/7 and T20 from 2007. In 2014 she played her debut Test match as captain when her team toured India. The home team’s batting proved far too strong and despite scoring a century on debut, du Preez and her team lost by an innings.

Mignon holds the record for the highest runs scored in ODIs by a South African woman, with 3760 runs at 32.98 average and a high score of 116*.
