Born on 15th October 1995 in Hunza, Gilgit Baltistan, is current Pakistan ODI and T20I fast bowler, Diana Baig.
The multi-talented athlete has represented Pakistan in both football (soccer) and cricket and is also a handy basketball player. However cricket is a more popular sport in Pakistan and it is fortunate for cricket fans that Diana continues to forge a career in this sport.
Her ODI debut was against Bangladesh in October 2105 and a month later her T20 debut against West Indies.
In 31 ODIs Diana has picked up 36 wickets with a best of 4-30 taken earlier this year against South Africa at Kingsmead, Durban. In the same series she achieved her highest score of 35 not out which is second on the list of highest scores batting at number ten.
In 28 T20Is she has 23 wickets with a best of 2-12. She is easily Pakistan’s most reliable catcher and has taken 22 catches across both formats. Her fielding at point rivals that of Deandra Dottin and Rachael Haynes.
Captain of her regional team, it does seem that one day this level headed cricketer will lead Pakistan.
