Women’s Cricket Daily – 19 August 2026

Welcome to today’s women’s international cricket update featuring overnight results, today’s matches, breaking news and a look back through history.

News in brief

  • A quiet day for international cricket, in fact August has been the quietest month of 2026. The month of May had over 50 international cricket matches, a record which was broken in June when there were over 100 matches. Never has there been such a flood of women’s international cricket. As we begin the transition from the northern to the southern summer, we’ll brace ourselves for the next deluge and enjoy a quiet cup of tea.
  • England skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt will miss the upcoming series against Ireland. Charlie Dean will stand in once again.
  • The Women’s Asia Cup is to be played in the UAE between August 28 and September 13. The competing teams will be: Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand and UAE.
  • Friday Quiz! Lights, Action, Cricket! We’re going to the movies. I’ll give you the movie title. You just need to match the cricketer. Do the quiz.
