Women’s Cricket Daily – 12 July 2026

Welcome to today’s women’s international cricket update featuring overnight results, today’s matches, breaking news and a look back through history.

News in brief

  • India have a strangle hold on the Lord’s Test, ending day two with 269 runs in front and 9 second innings wickets in hand. They got there on the back of a superb bowling effort by Kranti Gaud (5-37).
  • At 154/1 in the second innings, India’s plan is simple: score as many runs before lunch on day three and declare. The morning session thus far has been the easiest time to bat – go out T20 style and set England a monster target.
  • For England it’s time to show that true grit they are famous for and dig in deep. There’s no rain on the horizon so there is no choice other than to tough it out.
  • Crowd for day one: 10,763. Crowd for day two: 15, 243: a record single day attendance at a women’s Test. Well played, London.
  • Heather Knight has announced that she will retire at the end of the Test match.
  • Ireland and West Indies do battle at Bready later today in the second ODI of the series. West Indies currently lead 1-0 after their 9 wicket win in game one.
  • New Friday Quiz: An English Summer
