Women’s Cricket Daily – 10 July 2026
Welcome to today’s women’s international cricket update featuring overnight results, today’s matches, breaking news and a look back through history.
News in brief
- The historic first ever women’s Test at Lord’s begins today. The first day is a sell-out and day two looks close to doing so as well. As it should be!
- England has not beaten India in a Test since 1995. For India, a bit more recent, defeating England in Mumbai in December 2023. In England, India won at Wormsley in 2021. Plenty of incentive for the home team in this Test.
- Having bowed out of the World Cup early, India has had the advantage to spend plenty of time practicing against the red ball while England was still competing in the World Cup.
- Starting tonight at Bready, Ireland host West Indies for a three match ODI series. Ireland will be keen to use their recent T20 success against West Indies in the World Cup to motivate them in this 50 over format. In 12 meetings they have only defeated West Indies once.
