Making her international debut in 2007, wicket keeper Trisha Chetty is among the few players from South Africa to appear in all three formats of the game.
South Africa rely upon Chetty with both bat and gloves. Chetty has the record of the highest opening stand in T20I of 170 runs with Shandre Fritz, since overtaken. But it’s with the gloves that she truly left the world awe-struck.
Trisha Chetty is statistically the best wicket-keeper in ODI. She has the highest number of dismissals by a wicket-keeper (183) in that form of the game.
She has represented South Africa in two Test matches. In her debut against the Netherlands, she bagged a catch and a stumping. Her second and last Test match appearance was against India, who proved a more difficult opponent.
However, Chetty saved her best Test performance in crucial times. She took a catch and two stumpings as India scored 400 in their only innings. With the bat, Chetty hit 56 and 35. Chetty could not save her team from losing, although proved herself in Test cricket.
