The PNG innings was an exciting display of glorious cover drives in the first 10 overs, followed by pyrotechnics with 7 sixes hit with ease, three in a row from top scorer Tanya Ruma, to register the highest total of the tournament. It was a wonderful blend of power and grace.
At 75/1, with a gem of an innings from Theertha Satish, it looked like UAE were going to do this easily. Not to be. Some poor shot selection and some dubious running between the wickets saw them hand the game to PNG.
