Jamaica appeared at the 1973 World Cup, along with Trinidad and Tobago. At that time there was no West Indies team as such and the two nations played individually. By the time the next World Cup featured players from the Caribbean, they were playing for West Indies.
The captain of Jamaica was Yolande Geddes-Hall, who would later go on to play for the West Indies in both Test and ODI.
